A fun, colorful and eclectic art gallery, located right on the famous Homer Spit! Exhibited in the Gallery are some of the finest Alaskan artists including Gary Lyon, Byron Birdsall, Barbara Lavalee, Andrei Vasseka , Valissa Higman, Dan Twitchell, Felicity Rae Jones, and many others. Also a large collection of contemporary and Alaskan Native art is exhibited. This includes baleen and grass baskets, walrus ivory and whalebone carvings, works of multimedia and some unusual antique pieces. |

Today the Sea Lion Gallery enjoys a great reputation for exhibiting some of the finest Alaskan artists. The walls and display cases exhibit a wide variety of both original work and limited editions. You might find an antique twined Aleut basket from the 1920's beside a finely carved contemporary Inupiat Eskimo walrus ivory Sculpture by Jerome Saclamana. A handsome original oil of a Grizzly Bear by artist Dan Twitchell might hang on the wall beside a Printers Proof stone lithograph "Encounter IV" by Homer artist Gary Lyon. The Sea Lion is fortunate to be among the few galleries currently chosen by Valissa Higman to feature her Vibrant, Colorful Prints.
